The Journey of a Princess: Chapter 2

The main hall was a place built for events like this; when you enter through the main door you can see the wide space of the dark wood floor of the hall, and either side there are arched walls leaving a small entryway between them and the wall. To the left side, behind the arched wall were several tables of ravishing food that was especially made with expensive ingredients that was ordered by Mr. Ford.  It was his order to make it so that his precious daughter would enjoy the event even if it was for a little while. He knew that making White do this was asking for a lot and he wished he could grant anything for her even if it was just the little things.

On the right side of the hall behind the arched wall were tables finely set for every individual to enjoy. The centre was open for those who wanted to mingle with everyone and dance to the classical music in the background, from an outsiders point of view it seems like the party was held for the most prestigious of events, however inside it all, it is merely a greetings party where many famous and wealthy people have gathered in order to just say hello.

While Mr. Ford neared the door towards the main hall he can hear the peaceful sounds of friendly conversation to his ears and laughter just as he had hoped it would be. He sighed a very relax sigh from the peace he hears as he approaches the door one of the servant notices him and calls out, "Sire! You're here already? Where are your body guards?" the servant looks around in panic. Mr. Ford hears the silence in the main hall and feels a little hurt, his extremely rare smile had disappeared and has emerged with a more fierce looking stare at the servant.
"There is no need for guards to follow me when I enter my own banquet, please do not concern yourself,"
"But your majesty-"
"I am quite capable of taking care of myself," he said with a fierce glare towards the servant. The servant started to shiver in fear and as calmly as possible replied by saying,
"Of course, my apologies your majesty" then he leaves with a small bow.

Mr. Ford felt the sadness in his heart from the silence in the hall as he entered, from the outside no one knew how sad he was in fact to everyone it just seemed like he was angry and is about to throw his rage if anyone even comes near him. He looked around at the frightened stares and thought to himself 'these people wouldn't even dare move a step unless I order them to, how upsetting'
"Alright everyone please enjoy the banquet to your heart’s content I hope you all enjoy your time here," he says with a attempted smile. However it turned out looking even worse and not anything like a smile but just a very frown slash angry face. No one moved and Mr. Ford knew his attempt to smile would be his last try in order to get anything from them. He went across to the food section to grab himself a drink when Donté Lincoln approached him with a smirk on his face.
"Why Mr. Ford what a pleasant surprise!" He says while spreading his arm wide open in order to give Mr. Ford a hug. Mr. Ford knew that he could not reject this as it would affect the peace treaty between Antrolic View and Glanbone Trobestone. Everyone knew the world historic battle between the two countries, Glanbone Trobestone was known for the countless victory in battles until they came across Antrolic View, it was the first time that they lost, and being such an egotistical country, the king of Glanbone Trobestone announced the battle to be equal and that there was no winner. Mr. Ford did not like the idea however he knew that this was the best thing to do with another country as this would cause less enemies and more allies, so he complied. Now the kings' son, Donte Lincoln has been sent by his father in order to keep an eye on the palace regularly in order to make sure there was no hidden plot on their country.

As Mr. Ford leans in to give him a hug Donté whispers in his ears,
"Now, now Ford you should try smiling at your people don't be so gloomy," and then releases with a huge smirk on his face. Angered by the way Donté is treating him he grinds his teeth to avoid yelling as he can see people looking towards him,
"Don't tell me what to do you scum!" he whispers back, but Donté doesn't even twitch. Just before Donté could make a remark George Rutherford interrupts them by whispering into Mr. Ford’s ear,
"Princess Stilton is ready and is about to enter," after hearing this Mr. Ford calms down and looks towards the main door where White is standing like a beautiful doll and next to her is Lalette. Now everyone in the hall are muttering and pointing at White which made Mr. Ford really mad and just as he was about to say something he sees White whispering something to Lalette and Lalette looks around until she found Mr. Ford and points towards his direction, White looks towards his direction and smiles her innocent smile and runs towards him without taking any notice of what the others are saying.
"Dad!" She says with her beautiful smile and practically jumps on Mr. Ford to give him a huge hug. Mr. Ford slightly taken aback hugs her back saying,
"White! You look magnificent," White smiles a shy smile and then replies,
"Thanks, I missed you so much," and then for the very first time the people were able to see a genuine smile from him and started to whisper saying,
"Oh my god! His majesty smiled! That's amazing!"
"Of course he would his daughter is here you know" said another and then everyone stared at White. She looked at all the silenced looking faces and then said with a gentle smile,
"Ladies and gentlemen I hope that you all can enjoy yet another wonderful banquet prepared by my father please enjoy it to your heart’s content!" and everyone gives an applause and start to finally enjoy the party. When everyone got back to themselves White turned around and looked at Mr. Ford who was glaring at Donté, White shivered a bit and then said to him in a calm voice, "Dad what's the matter?"
"This guy decided to invite himself to the party," said Mr. Ford feeling really frustrated for not being able to express his anger.
"Well now that's no way to treat your future son-in-law"
"Where on earth did you come up with that load of nonsense?!" Mr ford demanded as he brought himself a little closer to Donté.
"Well your daughter is ready to be wedded now isn't she?" And with that comment Mr. Ford hit the roof!
"Right that does it!" he grumbled as he walked viciously across the floor grabbed hold of Dante’s collar and was about to punch him, when he realised the whole room has stopped what they were doing and is watching him. He slowly turned to look at White whose face was so pale that she looked like she was going to faint, he looked at Donté who was smirking at him even more which made Mr. Ford even angrier and raised his hand in a fist and was ready to punch him when White screamed,
"Mr. Ford What are you doing?!" Everyone in the hall was so shocked and people started whispering saying
"Oh my god! She said Mr. Ford!" Everyone knew that White does not call Mr. Ford by his name unless she is really angry. White was holding onto her father’s hand that was curled into a fist and her father looked at her with soft eyes,
"White..."
"Don't you dare" she said with a very stern voice that made even Mr. Ford himself shiver, she looked at him with her bright blue eyes which right now looked fiercely dark. "You better not apologise or say anything right now just let him go and we'll talk about it over some nice dinner," she said and slowly let go of her hand and immediately after that her father released his hands from Donté, who seemed to be enjoying this a lot. White turned to the people made sure that they were reassured and then looked at her father, Donté and George with a small glare "Now then, shall we?" she gestures to the food.

White, Mr. Ford,  and George have all gathered on the table having the meal while talking, Mr. Ford and White were giggling and laughing amongst themselves that it seems that they completely forgotten what happened just a moment ago until Donté said,
"So about this marriage," and Mr. Ford glared at him who seemed to have completely forgotten that he was still here.
"Don't start with that nonsense first tell me what are you doing here? Who invited you?"
"I did," everyone on the table turned to look at White.

The Journey of a Princess: Chapter 1

Chapter 1

It never helps when people rush you to do something that you don't want to do. However there is a difference between wanting to do something and the need to do something. White felt that attending to her annual greetings party was more of the need to then want to go. She knew that meeting and greeting was all something she needed to maintain in order to impress Mr. Ford. White knew very well how much she owed Mr. Ford, after all he was the one who saved her life when she was just a little girl, who was starving in the streets of Antrolic View until the age of 10.

Antrolic View was a country famous for the extraordinary source of resources and amazing scenery that surrounds the place as well as parts of the country inside, especially the small city known as Glamorous Glassis. This city was known for the finest of all items and the scenery was so marvellous that the place looks like it's made from glass that glitter to look like crystals; that made anyone who entered the place feel happy and the urge to never want to leave the dreamlike place. This was the same for White, to her this place is like home and there isn’t a single thing that she would want to change about it, after all this is the place she has been living for 6 years with Mr. Ford and Leo Cordial.

"Princess Stilton you must hurry and get dressed or else you are going to be late for the party,” said Lalette and she started to pace back and forth on the rich red looking carpet.
"I know, I know, you don't need to tell me twice Lalette, we have plenty of time it's not like dad would say anything if I'm a little bit late,"  said White as she started to get dressed into her pink gown that was given to her as a present by Mr. Ford. Lalette looked at her with wide eyes and mouth opened.
"How can you say that?! If you’re not ready the whole palace will feel the wrath of Mr.  Ford!" She starts moving her hands in the air while still panicking as she walks back and forth, White knew Lalette was very nervous as it's her job as the maid to take care of White, she’s always been a worrywart ever since White entered the palace. White walks slowly towards the frantic Lalette who has now started to mumble in panic and has increased her speed in pacing, White manages to grab both her arms,
"Shhh...Lalette calm down, look I've already put on my dress all that is left is for you to do my hair and makeup. So do calm down as the more panic you are the time would be wasted." Finally Lalette calmed down, she moved White over to the dressing table and picked the brush and slowly started to brush her hair. White peeked at her through the mirror and caught her calming and relaxed faced, "see I told you, you had nothing to worry about," Lalette smiled through the mirror and said,
"Yes it is true, but at times  I must be in a panic because if I make one mistake  then Mr. Ford would not be happy and..." she  paused for a bit and stopped combing, "and I  won't be able to be your maid anymore," she said  in a quiet voice. White turned around and looked at her with a serious face,
"Lalette, there are  some things Mr. Ford would not be able to do, you  are like a mother to me and he knows that, if it  comes to a point where you have to leave the palace, rest assured I would make Mr. Ford bring  you back." Lalette smiled and turned White to face the mirror as she continued to comb her hair.
"Thank you White, you are so very kind and honestly you are like the daughter I never had."
"Thank you 'mum' that's very kind of you," and they both laugh.

George Rutherford was looking out of the window beside his overly exaggerated bedroom. He was staring so hard that he didn't even notice when Mr. Ford had already entered the room.
"And what may I ask has captured your interest George?"
"Oh my! Your highness," George jumps feeling his whole skin tremble in goosebumps, "wh-what brings you here?" he says as he swifts pasts the dark blue curtains and towards the sofas in the centre of the room. "Do take a seat sire," he gestures to the plush gold looking sofas. Mr. Ford looks at him with a serious looking face,
"You know George you really have been restless since this morning is everything ok?" George looks at him with a panic glance and then looks at the luxury blue carpet so he doesn't notice.
"What do you mean your majesty? I'm perfectly fine there's absolutely no trouble at all, you must be imagining things, anyways you shouldn't worry about me sire, you should be thinking about the - "
"Can you just tell me before I get really mad? I’ve known you all my life to know that there is something wrong with you so just tell me." He says with a stern voice. George looks even more panicked about it he started to think to himself if it would be a good idea to tell him the news.
"Umm...I don't think it's news you want to hear sire," he starts to fiddle with his fingers.
"Oh just tell me already!" Mr. Ford said in rage
"Err...Donté Lincoln is also invited to the greetings party this year and there are a few others who are accompanying him,"
"What?!" Mr. Ford said in a shock. "Who said that he could come? He doesn't even have an official invitation from me so how can he come?" He said feeling perplexed. George started to feel more uncomfortable and started to sweat a lot which he quickly wiped with his white cotton handkerchief, as he was doing so Mr. Ford looked at him in suspicion. "How did he end up coming here? You know George there are some things that you do that really makes me wonder."
"Your majesty! Your majesty!" Someone barges open the door as though they are in a race, Mr. Ford turns around,
"What is it?" He says in a more rough and stern voice that's fit for a true king.
"The guests have arrived already they are in the main hall you must hurry everyone is waiting for you." the servant said with a very concerned look.
"I'll be right there," he says in the same stern voice and then gestures the servant out of the room. Once the servant was out of ear reach he turns to face George and then tells him with a more friendlier voice and with that suspicious look, "and I'll speak to you later." And with that he leaves the room leaving George in a state of panic of the danger of his life.
